IT’S NEVER JUST A GIFT.

There are some things I will never show you.

The name on the tag.
Who something was for.
Why it was sent.
That’s part of what I do too.

Through JP | Concierge, I’m often asked to curate gifts for people who, quite frankly, can buy almost anything they want.

The handbag. The shoes. The watch. The things others may only ever dream of owning.

So it isn’t about finding something more expensive or more luxurious.

It’s about giving them something they can’t simply go out and buy.

A feeling. A memory. A connection. Something that makes them stop, smile, breathe or remember.

Sometimes the gift itself is incredibly simple. But it has been so deeply considered, that when they open it, they’re not really opening a gift at all.
They’re opening an emotion.

Who are they?
What matters to them?
What do you want them to feel?

Because beautiful gifting isn’t about how much something costs.
It’s about how deeply it has been considered.

Beautifully considered.
Quietly delivered.

MONDAY MUSE | FINDING THE WORDS.

It has taken me more than twenty years to find the words.

Not because I didn't know what I did.

But because I didn't yet understand what had always been there.

For most of my career, I described myself using the language everyone else understood.

Event planner. Creative. Designer. Stylist. Producer.

Each described part of what I did.

None of them explained its heart.

Because looking back, I realise my work has never truly begun with design.

It has always begun with understanding.

Understanding people.
Understanding emotion.
Understanding what matters.

For more than twenty years, I've helped people find the words for what they couldn't quite express themselves.

Then I've taken those thoughts, feelings and ideas and brought them to life through weddings, events and experiences that tell their story.

And perhaps the greatest irony of all?

It took me more than twenty years to understand that about myself too.

Perhaps, finally...

I've found mine.

And I've brought those words together in the very first Edition of
JP | THE JOURNAL.

WE DIDN'T TAKE THEM TO ISTANBUL.
WE BROUGHT ISTANBUL TO BIRMINGHAM.

With Turkish Airlines increasing its routes from Birmingham Airport to Istanbul, we wanted travel agents to experience the destination, not simply hear about it.

So we did things differently.

We created the Istanbul Bonanza.

The colours. The rugs. The food. The Turkish tea. The music. Even the smell.

Guests shopped their way around Istanbul, moving between intimate stalls, meeting suppliers, asking questions and having conversations that became connections.

Because an experience isn't just about what people see.

It's about what they feel.

And perhaps the greatest measure of whether we'd achieved what we set out to do came in just a few words.

Someone working here in the UK, for their native airline, stopped and said...

"It smells like home."

For just a moment, the scent had taken them back to Istanbul.

And if that's not bringing Istanbul to Birmingham, I'm not sure what is.

We don't just create experiences.
We understand people.

Different settings.
Different stories.
Different people.

Yet the philosophy has always remained the same.
